Just another WordPress.com site

One month left

Thats all i have left of the fist year at Westerdals. I just dont know what to say to that, everything has gone by so fast. I’ve got som new really good friends, and my class is just the best. After the trip to London we become even closer, and we only have two years left at the school. And i’ve learned so much this year when i come to think of it, and i will hopefully get the summer to think a bit more about that since i now have startet in a new job, that is a brand new store opening, so i also have quite alot to do there and there is the assigments to be done and test to be written. Also my other job.. So i feel like a superwomen right now. But i know i love it, just need the summer to get some sleep. Just some random thoughts.

Chindogu; packaging

Since before christmas we have had an assigment at school, its called “Chindogu” and the task was to invent an “Chindogu”. And now you are probably thinking what the heck is an Chindogu. Wel, just to make it simple i have copy/paste from wikipedia.

“Chindōgu (珍道具?) is the Japanese art of inventing ingenious everyday gadgets that, on the face of it, seem like an ideal solution to a particular problem. However, chindōgu has a distinctive feature: anyone actually attempting to use one of these inventions would find that it causes so many new problems, or such significant social embarrassment, that effectively it has no utility whatsoever. Thus, chindōgu are sometimes described as “unuseless” – that is, they cannot be regarded as ‘useless’ in an absolute sense, since they do actually solve a problem; however, in practical terms, they cannot positively be called “useful.”

and to make it short, Chindogu is an everyday gadget that solves a problem and its useless.

I’ve made a smoking hat, and this is the packaging for it. You get to see more of the product later, since i havet made it in full size yet.

Post-it

Me and some people in my class just won 2000€ in an post-it contest. We made a masterpiece (as we like to call it) of post-its on a 3X6 meters wall. Just look at our precious piece.

and of course the group!

Adapter

Wow, do yesterday was fun! Alot of very good project and we got wine! And there was a huge cake there, that was probably the best one i think. Anyways, here is the presentation we did of our project!

Neighbourship

Hey, so this friday the project we have been working on a while, has to be done. Like, the show starts 12:00 or so. And i have to blog about this before that also. To be honest i’m really tired of blogging, so be it, i have to do it anyways!

Okey, so we have had a 5weeks project about “make neighbourship”, if my trananselation is correct! This is basicly the assigment. Trough the first three weeks we leaned about different metods to find a project, the two we used in the project was surrealism and spinn. Very helpful to the creative prosess! The sulotion we came with was “make a place where creative young people, between 13-19, can discuss and help eachother”

The reason is that when you are either in junior high school or high school, you havent got the same network as the people in college or university. And its hard to fine other people that love the same things that you do, because the classes are so basic, you have to learn history or math (wich are two really boring subjects). So with this site you can expand your network and get friends whom you can work with later in life. Its not only a site tho, we want to have workshops around the country, and a huge festival in the middle of the summer where people can join eachother with the stuff they love.

The name of this fantastic idea is “Adapter” or adapt in english. Think you kind of understand why this is the name, but its like if you put a thing in a thing and you get something fantastic! So yeah, we are not finished with all the visuall stuff, like website and the newsletter. But later on, probably tomorrow, i will post the finish project. Sorry to say its in Norwegian, but could transelate for you.

(its probably a lot of misspelling, but i cant bother looking through them at this time of day)
